J.Theodore Restaurant & Bar

Fantastic food, service, and Vibe. I was hesitant because I went to the next door restaurant previously and had a bad food experience. This was the opposite of that. Everything we ate was amazing. The only negative thing was that we tried to go into the Speakeasy and it was already at capacity at 6:30 pm. Also, it looked like less speakeasy, more of an extension of the restaurant. This was the most horrible dining experience I’ve received since living in Texas! This also was my 1st time ever coming here and I mentioned that upon walking in to the hostesses. I walked in at 5 on the dot, on a Friday for happy hour No bar seats were available and the hostess (there were 2 girls) told me to wait until 5:15 to be seated in the back bc the back is for dinner. I wanted happy hour menu and could clearly see there were 4 open tables in the front along with 2 booths in the back. So I went online a scheduled a 5:15 table to get seated quicker but it didn’t work. At 5:15 the back opens and they tell me to go back there and wait to be seated..I spoke with the hostess there and asked her was it still happy hour as I only wanted happy hour and I was the only person eating..no one else was with me nor coming. She goes and check then comes back and apologized and finds me a seat in the front. She seats me with my water and goes back to her stand in the back. The hostess from up front, looking weirdly at me, seated without a menu in front of dining, tells me I’d have to leave at 6:30-6:45 bc someone reserved the table. Mind you, I had reservation for 5:15 I placed my drink order at 5:22, drink received at 5:32 AND I saw the girl (one of who was in the front hostess stand when I walked in and told me to wait) she put her fingers n hands on the mouth of drinking straw (both ends). I switched the straw with my water straw that I’d received from the back with the other hostess. 5:52 finished eating and left no tip The place looks nice though there is a leak in the ceiling near the front door Besides the 2 girls at the front hostess stand and the guy who seemed clueless and new, everyone else seemed pleasant and knew what their jobs were. The drink was great The food was okay..I didn’t get a chance to try all that I wanted to due to the service, it was a complete turn off

I recently had the pleasure of dining at J Theodore Room with Dr. Blake Bennett to learn about taxes while enjoying their delightful pesto sandwich. The establishment boasts a charming patio and indoor eatery bar, along with a hidden room . I indulged in their rich cappuccino and a delectable array of sweet desserts. Whether it's a business meeting or a leisurely outing, J Theodore Room is a fantastic destination. Don't miss out on this gem; a visit is truly worthwhile. #Soldbylucie.

I met a large party of friends from out of town for dinner. When I arrived, the place was slightly noisy with diners eating and drinking. A few minutes later, a one man band started playing. He was singing catchy pop tunes. It was a good attachment to the meal. We ordered a nice variety of things to try. My pics display the mood. The wagu burger looks good . The cocktail with the beautiful flower was perfect. And the carrot cake was festive. It's a trendy, eclectic spot--stop by. I highly recommend it. Eat up!!!!! We loved this place. We stopped by for dinner with the plans on visiting the Rare Book Club (speakeasy) when it opened. The food was really awesome. I loved their lobster appetizer. I tried their tacos and loved them. I ordered a bellini, which was not exactly what I expected but I still loved it. The server was awesome, she was attentive and really helped answering our questions.

Went for Mother’s Day so probably not the best time to go for the 1st time. The food was great, however the room in the back was super hot & the music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other & the rap music was obnoxious. Asked them to lower the music & was told “it’s designed around a younger clientele” however we are all moms 🤣.
